COALITION 2009 CONCERNED ABOUT ELECTION DATE REMAINING UNKNOWN
Chisinau. The Civic Coalition for Free and Fair Elections, “Coalition 2009”, has expressed its growing concern that the Communists-dominated Parliament of Moldova would not declare the date of the 2009 parliamentary elections, due next spring, and would not pass even a single legislative document to this effect. On Tuesday, the Coalition organized a news conference in Infotag and presented its first Report on a pre-election monitoring carried out in October through December this year.
CAHUL COUNCILORS DEMAND RESIGNATION OF MAYOR AND VICE-MAYOR
Chisinau. A group of five local Councilors of the Cahul local Council from the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (LDPM), the Moldova Noastra Alliance and Christian Democratic Popular Party (CDPP) demand the resignation of Cahul Mayor Gheorghii Zagorodnii and Vice-Mayor Gheorghe Getivu, who are members of the Communist Party.

The next Parliament of Moldova, to be elected in the spring of 2009, will be formed with the incumbent ruling Moldovan Communist Party (MCP), the Moldova Noastra Alliance (MNA), the Liberal Party (LP), and the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (LDPM), as per ther opinion poll findings presented in the Infotag news agency by the SocioInform center for information and public opinion researches on Wednesday. The pollsters interviewed 1.2 thousand adult residents of various-type populated areas across Moldova on November 25 through 30.
