Lawyer Aureliu Colenco believes that law enforcers violated the law the day before by seizing money from citizens who were returning from Moscow.    On Thursday, at a press conference in "INFOTAG" agency, he said that the actions of law enforcers will be appealed in court.

The lawyer, who also represents the interests of activists of the former “Shor” party, pointed out that before the hastily called briefing of the law enforcers, a video was shown where bundles of money were shown against the background of symbols of the opposition political bloc "Victory" created by Ilan Shor in Moscow.   

"Citizens who arrived on this flight and the money seized from them were deliberately linked to the opposition. The money was allegedly smuggled in. Moreover, some of these passengers had nothing at all to do with the political event that took place in Moscow.  People were getting under their clothes, looking for money and demanding to check their documents," Colenco stressed.    

He added that now the affected citizens have come to court and will try to legalize the money, but it is not a fact that it will be possible to do it even through the court.    

"Moldovan citizens are not obliged to declare the amount up to 10 thousand euros when entering the country. Therefore, according to the law, all actions to confiscate this money must be recognized as illegal, the cases will fall apart in the courts. We are ready to work on citizens' claims, because there is a concept of "presumption of innocence". At the airport they acted inhumanely against them, violating human rights, depriving people of access to water, in some cases the intervention of medics was required," the lawyer emphasized.
