TIRASPOL PLANT “ELECTROMASH`” HALTS PRODUCTION BLAMING MOLDOVAN AUTHORITIES

The Tiraspol Plant “Electromash” is going into forced downtime starting with Monday. This was reported by Transnistrian media, lamenting that “600 workers are left without means of livelihood.” The Tiraspol administration blames the Moldovan authorities for the shutdown of one of the region's largest enterprises, alleging that they "are blocking the plant's exports, claiming that its products have dual-purpose.” The enterprise manufactures explosion-proof and general-purpose AC electric machines for driving pump, ventilation, and other types of equipment intended for coal, chemical, oil, gas, mining, metallurgical, and other industrial sectors, as well as energy. The products were supplied to more than 40 countries worldwide.
