CAMPAIGN ON PREVENTING VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN LAUNCHED
Chisinau. The National Center on Preventing Violence in Respect of Children (CNPAC), the Ministry of Social Security, Family and Child and the NGO Alliance have launched the campaign on preventing violence against children under the motto: “Notice Me, Hear Me, Help Me!”, which will continue until March 2009.

Chisinau. Chairman of the My Moldova non-governmental association Feodor Ghelici has accused state officials guilty that there are no permits for Moldovan cargo carriers, who want to go to Ukraine through Belarus.
GOVERNMENT LOSES IN ECHR ONCE AGAIN
Chisinau. The European Court of Human Rights examined the application lodged by Nicolae Malai, a national of the Republic of Moldova, who claimed that his human rights had been grossly violated by state officials, when in 2005 he was detained and accused of illegal fishing.
LIBERALS GIVE UP IDEA OF PICKETING CIS SUMMIT TO AVOID CLASHES
Chisinau. The Liberal Party has announced its giving up the idea to picket the Palace of the Republic in Chisinau, where the CIS Summit of the heads of government is taking place, “in order to avoid possible clashes”.
NICOLAE DABIJA PLEDGES TO PROTECT ROMANIANS ALL OVER THE WORLD

Chairman of the Democratic Forum of the Romanians of Moldova, Literatura şi Arta newspaper editor, writer Nicolae Dabija is standing for the Romanian Parliament as a candidate from the National Liberal Party of Romania, and says that if he is elected to the forum, he will be sparing no effort to protect the Romanians living outside Romania.

Chisinau. The National Center of the Roma People of Moldova and the Voice of the Roma People Coalition have demanded from Termocom Administrator Dionisie Antocel to apologize for his use of the racist terminology.

SERGIU MOCANU ANNOUNCES STRUGGLE AGAINST VORONIN REGIME
Chisinau. Sergiu Mocanu, the leader of the Popular Action Movement and former Adviser-at-Large to President Vladimir Voronin, has announced he is not going to run for parliament in 2009, but will join the forthcoming parliamentary campaign and will take an active part in it.
RAVNOPRAVIYE GETS OFFICIALLY RE-REGISTERED
Chisinau. The Ravnopraviye (Equal Rights) Socio-Political Movement is the official name of the organization, after its re-registration with the Ministry of Justice, which claims to be a defender of Russian-speaker minorities in the Republic of Moldova.
LDPM WILL DEFEND ITS RIGHTS IN COURT
Chisinau. The oppositional Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova leadership has stated they will challenge in court the law enforcement’s actions against protesters in some parts of the country. Last weekend, the party organized meetings of protest against the Communist authorities’ strangling the freedom of expression and press freedom.
