The Metropolitan See of Moldova is anxious about the concern, which the United Nations Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief, Heiner Bielefeldt, has expressed about what he believes is “a privileged status of the Orthodox Church in Moldova”, which he believes infringes on the rights of the representatives of other religious cults. The UN expert recommended the Moldovan Government to provide for a sound legislation against discrimination.
