The Civic Coalition for Free and Fair Elections, “Coalition 2009”, has expressed its growing concern that the Communists-dominated Parliament of Moldova would not declare the date of the 2009 parliamentary elections, due next spring, and would not pass even a single legislative document to this effect. On Tuesday, the Coalition organized a news conference in Infotag and presented its first Report on a pre-election monitoring carried out in October through December this year.

A group of five local Councilors of the Cahul local Council from the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (LDPM), the Moldova Noastra Alliance and Christian Democratic Popular Party (CDPP) demand the resignation of Cahul Mayor Gheorghii Zagorodnii and Vice-Mayor Gheorghe Getivu, who are members of the Communist Party.
