Chisinau. Moldovan businessman Gabriel Stati who has been kept in custody since 8 April 2009, is indignant at the contents of the film "Attack on Moldova" aired by the [private] NIT TV channel last week.

Chisinau. Moldovan lawyer Mihai Corj maintains that before its disbandment, the Parliament must hear a report by National Bank of Moldova (NBM) Governor Leonid Talmaci.

Chisinau. The “Moldova Unită” Party of Spiritual Development [0.22% at April 5 parliamentary elections] has decided to stand for parliament on the ticket of the Social Democratic Party headed by Dumitru Braghis.

Mrs. Nadezhda Mocanu, the wife of Sergiu Mocanu, the leader of the Popular Action Movement and former Adviser-at-Large to President Vladimir Voronin, believes her husband may be released from custody “only by wonder”. He was arrested in Chisinau last April 8, i.e. on the following day after the memorable riots and pogroms in Chisinau.

Chisinau. Chairman of the Lawyers for Human Rights Association of Moldova, parliamentarian Vitalie Nagacevschi presumes the prolonged detention of businessman Gabriel Stati in custody has a relation to the presidential election to take place in the Moldovan Parliament on May 20.

Chisinau. The Moldovan Union of Volunteers [of the 1992 armed conflict in Transnistria and later events in Gagauzia] has demanded to “free political prisoners Gabriel Stati and Anatol Matasaru now!”
