The association Youth for Moldova has demanded the Scelles Foundation to present its apologies to Moldova for recently provided information, according to which 70% Moldovan women aged 15-25 years were engaged in prostitution for at least 1 time.

Approximately 75% children in Moldova aged 12 to 16 regularly use the Internet. In cities and towns, the figure is slightly higher – 80%, whereas in rural localities it is 70%, on the average.

Prominent Moldovan political scientists and analysts – Moldovan political scientist Dr. Igor Botan, Chairman of the Association for Participatory Democracy (ADEPT), Institute of Public Policies (IPP) Director Arcadie Barbarosie, Director of the independent Moldovan Institute of Euro-Integration and Political Studies Viorel Cibotaru, Institute of Public Policies (IPP) Program Director, political analyst and ex-parliamentarian Oazu Nantoi, Eugen Revenco – Program Director of the Moldovan Association for External Policy (APE), Chisinau political scientist Vitaly Andrievsky, and analyst Alexandru Solcan have stood up with a joint appeal to the incumbent Moldovan authorities to give up the constitutional referendum idea and resume the constitutional process of electing president in parliament.

The just established Committee for Constitution and Democracy Protection has demanded immediate dissolution of the incumbent inefficient Parliament and the holding of an early parliamentary election without delay.

Under the international organizations’ pressure, the Government of Moldova works out programs in support of the Roma people living in the republic, but would not provide whatever means for program realization, Marin Ala, Chairman of the Tarna Rom Union of the Young Roma of Moldova, stated at a news conference in Infotag today.
