NATIONAL BANK GOVERNOR CONGRATULATES MOLDOVAN CITIZENS ON DAY OF PEACE AND UNITY IN EUROPE

"Congratulations Moldova! Congratulations Europe!," Anca Dragu, Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), addressed this congratulatory message to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova on May 9. The banker said that for her the Day of Peace and Unity in Europe this year has a "special significance."

"I have the opportunity to celebrate the fundamental European values as Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, a country that is in full swing on its accession journey to join the European Union," Dragu said.

The NBM Governor urged citizens to reflect on Europe Day on shared values - respect for human rights, freedoms, the rule of law, democracy.

" Accession to the European Union is a significant leap towards the modernisation and development of the Republic of Moldova, creating prospects for development, stability and prosperity. As Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, I am committed to contributing to strengthening our relations with European partners and to fulfilling the role of the NBM in the accession process to the EU," the NBM Governor noted.

She also added that the integration into the European structures opens up numerous prospects for improved banking services, greater access to development funds, advanced technologies and new markets, which will directly benefit each Moldovan citizen.

"We celebrate on May 9 our commitment to peace, prosperity and solidarity throughout the region," Anca Dragu concluded.
